author co-brand
Is the term we use at Quality Web Content to describe the rights of a
purchaser to use the original author's name and (or) byline when
publishing the content. Exclusive Distribution provides the right to
co-brand with an author, but this is not included with Multiple
Distribution content.
edit
The term used to describe any changes made to content, such as
corrections, revisions or adapting. Businesses may want to edit Web
content to include keywords or to angle the content to meet the needs of
their brand image.
Exclusive Distribution
Packages
Is the term we use at Quality Web Content to describe content that may
be purchased on an exclusive rights basis. Exclusive Distribution gives
the purchaser the full copyright to the content (including the right to
reuse the content including redistribution and resale), and the right to
co-brand with the original author's name if desired.
freelance writerA person who works in the writing,
editing or publishing field on a contract or
per project basis. Freelancers are paid on a per job or requirement
basis. Businesses may use freelance writers in instances where their
need would not be enough to justify a full-time staff member. Hiring a
freelance writer (freelancer) is a cost-effective way to bring
professional writing talent to your project.
ghostwrite (ghostwritten)
In Web content, it means content that is written by a professional
writer, but is credited to another writer or source. At Quality Web
Content our Multiple Distribution content is assumed ghostwritten. This
means you may brand your published copy with your own business name, and
not the original author's name.
Multiple Distribution Packages
Is the term we use at Quality Web Content to describe content that i
s
sold i
n limited quantities and i
s
retired by QWC after the designated maximum distribution has been
reached. The maximum distribution normally ranges between 10 and 25
copies. With this type of purchase it is assumed ghostwritten and you
may alter the content to ensure it has a unique angle when published to
your own Web site or publication.
While the author retains all copyright to the content in a Multiple
Distribution Pack, Web-exclusive rights are given to to the purchasers
for ninety days after the maximum distribution limit has been reached.
The author may only use the content in print or as samples on a
portfolio during the Web-exclusive rights period. Multiple Distribution
Packages require that the purchaser agree to not resell or redistribute
any portion of the content w
ithout
permission from the author, and that the content may only be used for a
single entity (one Web site, one blog, one print publication or one
print run of business marketing materials - up to a maximum of 50,000
printed copies).
PLR
Short for
Private Label Rights it is a licensing term used to
describe content that is often sold in bundles at a cheap price that you
can use, reuse and resell. For businesses, PLR can be problematic. PLR
content is often plagued with plagiarism, and this type of Web content
usually appears on hundreds to thousands of Web sites. The more that PLR content
appears online, the less relevant search engines see the content as
being. In the end, it will negatively impact your organic search
ranking.
SEO
Short for
search engine optimization, SEO is a process of
optimizing a Web site to make it more search engine friendly. The result
of good SEO practices are higher rankings in search engines which will
result in an increase i
n visitor traffic to
the Web site.
WebFormally called the
World Wide Web, it is a network of computers
(Internet servers) that support interlinked hypertext documents across
the Internet.

audio or visual content that a user experiences when visiting a Web
site.
